Obedience Classes

 

Basic Obedience:

Classes are 8 weeks in length (first class is handler orientation without your dog) and are designed for beginner handlers and dogs. Classes meet one hour per week and certificates are issued upon graduation.

Skills learned in basic obedience are:

Agility Classes

 

Agility is one of the most exciting handling programs and is great exercise and socialization for dogs and handlers. Learn to handle obstacles on command while working as fast as possible.

  • Stay (true stay with various distractions)

  • Recall

Advanced Obedience:

Classes are 10 weeks in length and are designed to continue to perfect the skills learned in basic classes. New classes are beginning weekly.

Skills learned in advanced obedience are:

Agility is not just about the dog

Agility requires a communication and understanding between the dog and handler to maneuver obstacles on command and to do it with as much speed as possible. Split second responsed to commands are needed and the handler must be in sync with their dog for it all to come off seamlessly.

 

Agility Class price is:

$65 per dog - 6 week course with option of coming 2 times per week.

**must complete basic obedience prior to enrolling in agility.

 

  • Off leash heel, sit, stay, down
  • Down on the heel
  • Recall
  • Down on recall
  • Out of site on all commands
  • Out of site stay up to 5 minutes
  • Advanced skills
  • introduction and use of hand signals with all commands
